Oregon Coast | Yaquina Head Marine Garden

As with all things on this trip even the seemingly easy shots of a lighthouse had its challenges. Not seen in the first photo is the bright blue snorkel lift and painting company truck parked immediately adjacent to it. I had to use the plant life on the side of the hill to get down low enough to mask those out. The last photo was another composition of the lighthouse where the sky decided to tease with 2-3 minutes of a bit of blue.

Over the next half an hour or so the fog rolled in and made most everything hard to see (let alone get focus on). The black birds on top of the marine garden sea stacks are Murre. Apparently as I was using the 70-200m lens half the people that came by me asked what kind of birds these were. I guess a long lens equals expert in ornithology? I had to Google them on site to be prepared for the next person to come along.
