The Holiday Season | Lighting Bokehballs

I took my new Canon EOS R and RF 35mm f/1.8 macro lens out tonight to see check out the lens bokeh. it did not disappoint. Both photos were taken handheld at ISO 200 with the top photo is shot wide open at f/1.8 and 1/40 second and the bottom photo at f/4 and 1/13 second.

At f/1.8 the bokeh is nearly perfectly round near the center of the image with it getting more and more onion or football shaped as you move out from there. Stopped down to f/4 all of the bokeh starts to be much more similar throughout the image but it starts also show a bit more aperture blade faceting.

In either case I think it produces a nice dreamy image.
