Oregon Coast | Devil’s Churn

While the light was harsh and the marine layer lurked in the distance I managed to spend a little over an hour at both the churn and the rocky area immediately south of it.

About the Churn: https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/oregon/devils-churn-natural-wonder-in-or/. Note that this area is managed by the US Forest Service and that a day use/parking rate of $5 is required. If you are going to be spending any time visiting other spots along the coast ask them about the weekly pass. It is $10 for 5 days and can potentially save you a lot.

All shots below were taken on 8/19/2020 at high tide with the Canon 5D Mark III with either the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 Art or the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 S. With the exception of the long exposures all were polarized with a B+W circular polarizer to reduce the glare on the water from the harsh light and to enhance the green color in the water. For the long exposures a B+W 6-stop neutral density filter was used.
