Mexico | CDMX

Mexico City. The most incredible mix of old and new worlds. Within a mile of the hotel I stayed in in the Reforma District there was the recently uncovered ruins of an ancient pyramid with a sign out front indicating that there was municipal WiFi.

And who would think that there was a Chinatown in Mexico? There is and the experience of Chinese people and businesses speaking Spanish is truly one of a kind.

Like everywhere else in Mexico I have been Mexico City is beautiful, full of interesting people (I had a conversation on the street with a local who had recently been deported from the US and was no fan of either our current leadership nor his), amazing cuisine and incredible cultural landmarks. To come even close to this population density and diversity in the states you would need to visit Manhattan.

All photos taken with the Canon EOS M6 and the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2, both of which I purchased specifically for this trip not knowing I would end up really liking the camera way more than I expected to. You really don’t want to display too many valuables while on the streets of Mexico City so a smaller camera was critical.
