Introduction To Twitter

Step-by-step to social networking.

After the account setup and configuration is complete, you can go to www.twitter.com to log in.

Click on the Sign In button at the top right of the screen and enter your username and password. Click Sign In.

The main page will show a number of things, the most notable will be the messages or “tweets” from those that you follow. The whole idea of Twitter is to gain as much of a following as possible so that your messages or “tweets” will be seem by them.

You will gain followers in a couple of ways. The first is by following them. Start by looking at who follows you by clicking on the “following” item in the upper right hand portion of the screen. Go through the list of followers by clicking on some of them and then looking at who they are following. For this example we will look at who Matt Chandler, Pastor of The Village Church outside of Dallas, TX. follows.

It looks as though he follows quite a number of people and you will see a checkmark and the word “Following” next to those that you follow as well. For those that you are not following, but wish to, just click on the follow button (the one that has the plus sign and the outline of a person
